The Department of Radiology utilizes technically advanced equipment designed to provide exceptional accuracy and comfort for the patient. One example of the Department's commitment is its use of video viewing for young patients, a feature that adds to their relaxation and helps reduce the need for sedation. We have a team of experienced pediatric nurses who can administer sedation in a safely monitored environment, and general anesthesia can be arranged for those patients who require it. The Department's commitment for accuracy and comfort is carried out in approximately 48,000 examinations a year as it provides a wide range of pediatric imaging services, including:
- General diagnostic radiology
- Fluoroscopy, including videofluoroscopy
- Computed tomography (CT)
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Nuclear medicine
- Ultrasound
All members of the staff are board certified radiologists with qualifications in Pediatric Radiology who have experience in the radiologic manifestations of disease and the medical problems peculiar to infants and children. We welcome telephone consultation, and we have teleradiology capability for sending and receiving images.
