Wow! I can’t believe school started again. That means lots of my friends are riding the school bus each day.
Here’s some things you can do to stay safe:
• Don’t run up to the bus when it’s moving. Stop and look both ways before you cross a street.
• While you’re waiting, stand back from the curb and the street. Don’t push or shove near the bus.
• Wait until the driver opens the door before you walk up to the bus.
• Use the handrails when you’re going up the steps.
Once you’re on the bus, find a seat and sit down. You can talk to your friends but don’t get too loud and distract the driver. Listen to the bus driver and do what he or she says.
When the bus drops you off, be careful crossing the street. If you drop something in the street or near the bus, don’t stop to pick it up. The bus driver may not be able to see you.
