St. Christopher's Hospital for Children Appoints New Chief Nursing OfficerFebruary 26, 2010Heidi Baur, M.S., R.N., N.E.-B.C., has been appointed Chief Nursing Office at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Heidi brings 20 years of nursing experience to her new role. Baur joined St. Christopher’s Nursing department as Performance Improvement Coordinator in 2002. During her time at St. Christopher’s, Heidi’s roles have expanded to include Director of Nursing, Oncology, Social Work and Pastoral Care. Prior to coming to St. Christopher’s, Baur held numerous positions at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C including Performance Improvement Coordinator, Unit Manager and Clinical Manager. Baur also held nursing positions at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. and New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York. Baur received her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University College of Nursing and her master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Maryland University College. She is an active member of the Association of Pediatric Oncology Nurses, American Organization of Nurse Executives, and American Nurses Association. “Heidi’s leadership and nursing qualities will be instrumental in continuing our journey as a Magnet-recognized facility, and providing exceptional care to children from Philadelphia and around the world,” says Bernadette Mangan, chief executive officer.
