![]() | American Heart Association Award Brings Renowned Researcher to St. Christopher's HospitalJanuary 04, 2010St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children has received the American Heart Association Council on Cardiovascular Disease in the Young Visiting Professorship Award for 2009. The award allows the hospital and host, Cardiology Chief Dr. Shuping Ge, to invite a world-class investigator with mutual clinical and investigative interests to visit the hospital for two days of educational and academic activities. Dr. Harry Dietz, the Victor A. McKusick Professor of Genetics and Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, is expected to visit St. Christopher’s Hospital in early 2010. Academic and educational activities are expected to include Grand Rounds, a mini-symposium in Philadelphia, visits to St. Christopher’s Heart Center, medical genetics and research laboratories, as well as one-on-one mentoring of trainees and junior clinical and research faculty interested in cardiovascular genetics investigation. Dr. Dietz will also provide assistance to the new subspecialty Clinic for Genetic Cardiovascular Diseases and Cardiomyopathy at the Heart Center. |
