Neonatal Services in the Community

St. Christopher’s neonatal experts provide services for infants that are delivered at local and regional hospitals, including Temple University Hospital, Hahnemann University Hospital, Montgomery Hospital and The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, that require a higher level of care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. When needed, prenatal referrals are made to the pediatric surgeons, pediatric cardiologists, and other pediatric subspecialists at St. Christopher’s.

St. Christopher’s neonatal experts provide individualized care for the complex needs of neonates at the Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Montgomery Hospital and the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units at The Reading Hospital, Temple and Hahnemann. (For more information about Hahnemann Hospital's NICU, please click here.)

Consultation is available from the pediatric subspecialists at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. When infants in the NICU require advanced neonatal care, such as surgical intervention or more detailed subspecialty evaluations, they are transferred to the NICU at St. Christopher’s by a dedicated transport team.
