Orthopedics
The Orthopedic Center provides specialized care and treatment of problems of bones and joints in infants, children and adolescents at our main office site at St Christopher’s Hospital for Children and at a network of satellite offices throughout the Delaware Valley.
Children with multiple problems are treated comprehensively to include:
- Bone and joint infections
- Congenital abnormalities of the limbs and spine
- Hip disorders, such as congenital hip dislocation and slipped capital femoral epiphysis
- Spine deformities, such as scoliosis and spondylolisthesis
- Foot deformities, such as clubfeet
- Neuromuscular problems, primarily cerebral palsy and myelomeningocele
- Simple and complex fractures and dislocations
Highlights of orthopedic care at St. Christopher’s include:
- An active Foot and Ankle program for children and adolescents that includes treatment of complex deformities and congenital conditions, including clubfoot deformity.
- A rapidly growing Sports Medicine program for children and adolescents
- A multidisciplinary clinic to treat spasticity resulting from cerebral palsy and other neurologic disorders
- Non-operative and operative treatment of scoliosis
- Integral involvement in the hospital’s Level I Trauma Program serving the severely injured child or adolescent

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia has a highly qualified team of board-certified experts who are specially trained to work with the individual and unique needs of infants and pediatric patients.
