Radiology
The Department of Radiology offers services 24-hours-a day to pediatric inpatients and emergency patients. Outpatient services are available from 8 a.m. to 5:50 p.m. during the week.
The Department of Radiology at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is designed especially for pediatric needs. This is true not only for the technical amount of radiation administered, but also for equipment to improve patient comfort. Our technologists and nursing staff are highly experienced in dealing with children, which helps radiology processes run smoothly.
If it is necessary, a team of experienced pediatric nurses can administer sedation in a safely monitored environment, in order to make the child more comfortable. Pediatric anesthesiologists will provide general anesthesia for those patients who require it.
Our department’s commitment for accuracy and comfort is carried out in approximately 60,000 examinations each year as it provides a wide range of pediatric imaging services, including:
- General Diagnostic Radiology (X-Ray)
- Fluoroscopy, including video fluoroscopy
- Computed Tomography (CT)
- Magnet resonance imaging (MRI)
- Nuclear medicine
- Bone Densitometry
- Ultrasound
Our Radiology Department offers the 64-Slice LightSpeed VCT machine, an advanced Volume Computed Tomography System, which allows for faster scan time, higher quality images and lower radiation doses.
Our Radiology department is located on the first floor. For more information, contact (215) 427-5235 or the individual sections listed below:
