Critical Care Units

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
Located on the second floor of the hospital, the unit has eight beds. The physicians and nurses use advanced monitoring equipment and treatment modalities in collaboration with multiple surgical and medical sub-specialists to provide family-focused care to the most critically ill or injured children. The unit has a round-the-clock presence of critical care doctors and nurses led by a pediatric intensivist.

Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
Located on the second floor, this eight-bed unit provides round-the-clock care to the critically ill infants and children with congenital and acquired heart diseases. The care is provided in a collaborative fashion by a team of pediatric intensivists, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and anesthesiologists. Highly trained nurses dedicated to the care of children with heart diseases also staff the unit.

Special Care Unit
Located on the second floor, this unit provides family-focused care to critically ill children that are transitioning from the PICU and CCU and operating rooms. The unit has a round-the-clock team of physicians and nurses led by a pediatric intensivist.

Burn Unit

Located on the second floor, the five-bed burn unit provides care for children with minor to severe burns. It is staffed by nurses specializing in burn care. The patients are managed in a collaborative fashion by the Critical Care team and burn surgeons with help from physical, occupational and speech therapists, and psychologists, child life specialists and social workers.
