sounds of a safari experience! The lobby is just a few steps away from
the main visitor elevators, cafeteria and physician practices.

features a wide array of tantalizing drinks, snacks and small meals.
You can also relax and eat at tables with tiki-styled umbrellas.
Emergency Department
Our Emergency
Department, located on the ground floor of the hospital, treats
children requiring immediate medical attention 24 hours-a-day, seven
days-a-week. We see all patients as quickly as possible. As a Level 1
Trauma Center, we provide comprehensive care during medical or
trauma-related emergencies to more than 70,000 children and adolescents
each year.
Emergency Department Exam Room
The 17,300-square-foot center contains 36 examination and resuscitation
rooms. Board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians are in
attendance at all times, and pediatric and surgical subspecialty care
is available as needed.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Our Level
IIIC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 30-bed
full-service facility that offers individualized care for the complex
needs of each infant. All of our staff members are experts in newborn
intensive care and deliver highly-specialized around the clock care.
Short Procedure Unit (SPU)
Our Short Procedure Unit (SPU) is where many procedures are performed
that do not require overnight hospital stays.
Sleep Center
Our Sleep
Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine
and provides overnight sleep testing for children with a variety of
sleep disorders.
Child Life Playrooms
Children enjoy visiting our playrooms during designated hours to
participate in a wide array of fun activities. In addition to offering
creative and therapeutic activities for inpatient children, Child Life
Specialists actively help patients and families prepare for surgery and
procedures. Specialists are available to meet with families of both
medical and surgical patients, conduct hospital tours, and explain the
upcoming procedures using dolls and simple terms children can
understand.
Child Life Playrooms
Patients can also relax, watch a movie or play games in our beautiful
Hollywood Video Starlight Starbright Lounge, which is complete with
comfortable movie chairs, a big-screen television and a sky full of
stars. Child Life holds special events in this lounge including movie
and game nights.
Medical-Surgical Nursing Station
Experienced pediatric nurses staff our fourth and fifth floor
medical-surgical units. If your child is hospitalized overnight at St.
Chris, one parent can stay with the child in his or her room. Every
patient room is equipped with fold-out cots, and there are additional
facilities at the Ronald
McDonald House on campus for qualifying families.
Outpatient Waiting Room
The outpatient clinic waiting rooms at St. Chris are designed to make
families feel as comfortable as possible. When you visit your doctor,
be sure to bring a list of questions and your child's medical history.
Waldo E. Nelson Pavilion
The Waldo E. Nelson Pavilion is home to many of St. Christopher's
