St. Christopher's Hospital for Children has more than 220 pediatric experts on staff, combining expert general pediatric care with a wide array of pediatric specialties. A leader in pediatric care since 1875, St. Christopher's nationally recognized programs and pediatric specialists provide exceptional care to children from throughout the Greater Philadelphia area and around the world.

Information Desk
As you enter the hospital, the Information Desk is straight ahead. Our welcoming staff will greet you and give you a visitor's pass. They will also direct you to your destination and answer any questions you might have about your visit.

Our safari-themed learning lobby is complete with the sights and sounds of the safari!

Fish Tank
Our lobby features child-friendly décor including a beautiful fish tank.

Computer Learning Stations
While visiting the hospital, children can play age-appropriate games at computer learning stations that are equipped with Internet access.

Need a quick snack? Visit our safari-themed café in the lobby, which features a wide array of tantalizing drinks, snacks and small meals. You can also relax and eat at tables with tiki-styled umbrellas.

Interactive Fish Pond
Children enjoy playing on our interactive fish pond in the safari-themed lobby when they visit St. Christopher's Hospital.

Gift Shop
For your convenience, our Gift Shop is located on the ground floor of the hospital right past the information desk. It stocks food, convenience items, cards, gifts, balloons and toiletries and over the counter medicines. Visit us weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Emergency Department
Our Emergency Department, located on the ground floor of the hospital, treats children requiring immediate medical attention 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.

Emergency Department
As a Level 1 Trauma Center, we provide comprehensive care during medical or trauma-related emergencies to more than 70,000 children and adolescents each year.

Emergency Department
Our 17,300-square-foot center contains 36 examination and resuscitation rooms. Board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians are in attendance at all times, and pediatric and surgical subspecialty care is available as needed on a consultative basis.

Patient Room
Our patient rooms are comfortable and welcoming. Each room has a television and many rooms come with fold-out cots so that parents can sleep at their child's bedside.

ICU
Critically ill or injured children stay in the hospital's eight-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located on the second floor of the hospital. The unit is staffed around the clock by a team of experienced critical experts that use advanced monitoring equipment and treatments to care for patients. Parents can stay with their children 24 hours a day

NICU
Our Level IIIC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 30-bed full-service facility that provides individualized care for the complex needs of each infant.

SPU
Our Short Procedure Unit (SPU) is where many procedures are performed that do not require overnight hospital stays.

Sleep Center
Our Sleep Center, which provides overnight sleep testing for children with a variety of sleep disorders, has a family-centered focus. Bedrooms have a home-like setting, with semi-private bathrooms, television and DVD capabilities, and child-friendly amenities.

Child Life Playroom
Child Life Specialists work at the bedside and in playrooms to help patients have positive experiences during their hospital stays. Age-appropriate toys and activities are available in our two playrooms, and child life specialists bring bedside activities to patients that are unable to leave their rooms.

Child Life
Children enjoy visiting our playrooms during designated hours to participate in a wide array of activities. In addition to offering creative and therapeutic activities for inpatient children, Child Life Specialists actively help patients and families prepare for surgery and procedures. Specialists are available to meet with families of both medical and surgical patients, conduct hospital tours, and explain the upcoming procedures using dolls and terms children can understand.

Child Life Theater
Patients can also relax, watch a movie or play games in our beautiful Hollywood Video Starlight Starbright Lounge, which is complete with comfortable movie chairs, a big-screen television and a sky of stars. Child Life holds special events in this lounge including movie and game nights.

Cafeteria
Our cafeteria is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We offer a wide assortment of entrees, soups, salads, items from the grill, beverages and desserts.
