Welcome to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.

At St. Christopher’s we provide child- and family-centered care in a healing and comforting environment. Our pediatric specialists are here to provide you with the exceptional compassionate care that has been a hallmark of St. Chris since we opened our doors in 1875.

Over the years, we have continued to add services to better serve children from the Philadelphia community and around the world, including the recent expansion of our cardiology and cardiac surgery program. In the coming months and years, we plan to expand our programs and services and continue growing to make specialized pediatric care more accessible to patients throughout the region.

In order to bring first-class pediatric care to your neighborhood, we have opened pediatric practices in the Philadelphia suburbs, as well as a new specialty care center in Washington Township in South Jersey. Our recent partnership with The Reading Hospital brings highly specialized pediatric care to children in Berks County. We will continue to seek out opportunities that will increase our ability to provide state-of-the art pediatric care to patients in need and further our mission to improve the health and well-being of children around the world.

Every day our doctors are advancing new pediatric treatments through research and innovation as they help train the next generation of professionals in pediatric medicine through our affiliations with Drexel University College of Medicine and Temple University School of Medicine.

Year after year our physicians are named “Top Docs” by local and regional publications and our nursing staff is recognized for its exceptional quality. In 2009, St. Christopher’s achieved Magnet status, which is one of the nation's highest forms of recognition for nursing excellence.
