Airway Program

As a parent or caregiver, you want to do everything in your power to help your child breathe easier. The Airway Program at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children provides a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of airway abnormalities. At St. Christopher’s, your child will receive personalized care from a team of doctors and nurses whose focus is on otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat), pulmonology and speech therapy.

Those who can benefit from the Airway Program include:

  • Newborns with breathing issues
  • Children with congenital or acquired airway problems
  • Children who have had a tracheostomy or are on a ventilator

The Program features airway endoscopy equipment, which is used in office diagnosis and collaborates with the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Special Care Unit in managing complex airway reconstructions.
