The Orthopedic Center at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children provides specialized care and treatment for infants and children with bone and joint problems. Some of the conditions we treat include:

  • Bone and joint infections
  • Congenital (inherited) abnormalities of the limbs and spine
  • Hip disorders, such as congenital hip dislocation and slipped capital femoral epiphysis
  • Spine deformities, such as scoliosis and spondylolisthesis
  • Foot deformities, such as clubfoot
  • Neuromuscular problems, primarily cerebral palsy and myelomeningocele
  • Simple and complex fractures and dislocations

Orthopedic care at St. Christopher’s includes:

  • An active Foot and Ankle Program for children and adolescents that includes treatment of complex deformities and congenital conditions, including clubfoot deformity
  • A rapidly growing Sports Medicine Program for children and adolescents
  • A multidisciplinary clinic to treat spasticity (stiffness and muscle spasms) resulting from cerebral palsy and other neurologic disorders
  • Noninvasive and surgical treatment of scoliosis (curvature of the spine)
  • Integral involvement in the hospital’s Level I Trauma Program serving severely injured children and adolescents
