Department of Clinical Nutrition 

The Clinical Nutrition Department at St. Christopher's includes a staff of registered and licensed dietitians who specialize in pediatrics and provide comprehensive nutrition assessments and consultation services for all inpatients at the main campus as well as outpatients at the satellite offices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Our dietitians are pediatric nutrition experts who work directly with physicians, and other ​specialists in caring for patients with many different medical conditions. ​Our Clinical Nutrition Team is led by Darla J. Bradshaw, RD, CNSC, LDN, Clinical Nutrition Manager, Department of Clinical Nutrition. 

Clinical Nutrition Inpatient Services 

Inpatient dietitians work closely with the medical teams on the floors and in all critical care units of the hospital to ensure the appropriate medical nutrition therapy for patients with a wide range of medical conditions.  Nutrition therapy may include modified infant and pediatric formulas, enteral nutrition and parenteral (IV) nutrition.  


Clinical Nutrition Outpatient Services 

Outpatient dietitians work closely with the physicians in the outpatient settings to ensure the appropriate medical nutrition therapy for patients.  The dietitians often provide intensive nutrition counseling and education ​to patients ​who may have a variety of nutrition related conditions including malnutrition, celiac disease, food allergies, constipation, inflammatory bowel disease, obesity, feeding disorders, enteral tube feedings, and parenteral (IV) nutrition. 

We also coordinate a celiac support group which meets to provide continued support for our patients and families to ensure their success with a gluten free diet. For more information regarding outpatient services, please call (215) 427-6778.
