Intestinal Rehabilitation Program
The Intestinal Rehabilitation Program at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children specializes in treating children with short bowel syndrome — a condition that occurs when the intestines can't digest food and absorb fluids, electrolytes and nutrients essential to normal growth and development. The program combines specialists from gastroenterology, surgery, clinical nutrition, social work and nursing. All aspects of your child’s care are addressed, including your child’s growth, progress in advancing enteral feedings and parenteral nutrition. This collaborative approach and model for continuity of care allows for an individualized comprehensive care plan for your child.
