Radiology services for children require special attention to make a child feel relaxed and comfortable. From the amount of radiation administered to the equipment used to make your child comfortable, the Department of Radiology at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is designed especially for children. St. Christopher’s radiologists, technologists and nursing staff are highly experienced, which helps radiology procedures run smoothly. Our team of experienced pediatric nurses and physician intensivists can administer sedation in a safely monitored environment, in order to make your child more comfortable. Pediatric anesthesiologists can also provide general anesthesia for your child if required.
St. Christopher’s commitment to accuracy and comfort is carried out in approximately 60,000 radiological examinations each year as it provides a wide range of pediatric imaging services, including:
- General Diagnostic Radiology (X-Ray)
- Fluoroscopy (including video fluoroscopy)
- Computed Tomography Scanning (CT)
- Magnetic Resonance Imagining (MRI)
- Nuclear Medicine
At the main hospital campus, the department is located on the first floor, we offer services 24-hours-a day to pediatric inpatients and emergency patients. Outpatient services are available from 8 a.m. to 5:50 p.m. during the week.
