The team consists of transplant physicians, radiation oncologists, oncology nurses, social workers, pediatric registered dieticians and child life specialists provide comprehensive care and support for your child and family.
If your child is suffering from leukemia, lymphoma or other disease of the immune system, or has a bone marrow disorder or metabolic disease, a bone marrow transplant may be necessary to improve your child’s health and quality of life.
Bone marrow transplants involve replacing diseased marrow with healthy marrow, injected into the bloodstream via an intravenous tube. The marrow may come from a healthy donor or healthy stem cells may be collected from your child.
